Well friends, I just got home from a long day of work so I can earn the money to pay, among other things, our municipal taxes (half due on March 1st) and I was greeted the lovely "eau de landfill" aroma in my own driveway. Such a great smell to come home to.

So that's what that smell is...driving along Pierrfonds blvd towards St-Charles has been an unpleasent experience...now I can understand what the foul smell must be. Don't know how the residents of the area can put up with this...I wouldn't.

Media may be coming, petition no. I don't see myself as the door to door type of person. It is one of the reasons I find the Internet to be a great equalizer.

I'm currently a parishioner at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican church located just down the road from you. I sympathize with you as I often smell the landfill on the way to church. Just to let you know that I handle odours from the pulp and paper industry for a living (often caused by hydrogen sulphide as yours are)and there are a number of proven solutions that can be undertaken to minimize, reduce or eliminate the odours. I corresponded with Bert just before he left for vacation and I will follow-up with him when he gets back. Hopefully I will be able to give him some free advice that will help reduce the problem.

I live at the end of Oakwood below Jacques Bizard. If the wind is blowing this way on a humid day it even stinks down here. Thats over 1 km away! I have heard for the past few years that task forces and gov't intervention etc is trying their best to rectify the problem but the fact remains, it STILL stinks! The solution is CLEAR, close it up and fill it! Our gov't CLEARLY doesn't have a handle on this situation or else residents would be able to use their yards!

Well you got some media coverage at least. I read about your situation in The Chronicle this morning. Hopefully something will get done if you kick up a big enough stink.... sorry couldn't resist.
